The New Testament

One of the things that I’m most proud of from 2019 is the Bible reading that I’ve done.

The last 6 months of the year I read my Bible each and every morning and didn’t miss one day of Bible readings.

Sometimes I read it at 6:30am and sometimes at 10:30am but nonetheless, I got it done and wow has it ever been rewarding and impactful for me. God is so amazing and it has been wonderful to see the way that He speaks to us through His Word.

With the reading that I have been doing, I started with Proverbs, Matthew, and 1 Corinthians.

Now, I’ve been reading a chapter of Proverbs, a chapter of the Old Testament, and a chapter of the New Testament.

This past year was my first time finishing the New Testament fully and wow.

This means I’ve also read through and prayed through the entire Bible. Wow.

I’ve started doing a few things differently than I ever have.

Over the summer of 2019, I started praying for people — I was uncomfortable at first. I had never really done that consistently.

But now, not only have I prayed for more and more people but I’ve been more excited to pray.

Along with that, I started reading a chapter of Psalms before I go to sleep each night, that’s been wonderful as well.

The more of the Bible that I read, the more amazing that God becomes to me.

For this year, I strive to continue building a deeper relationship with God day by day, week by week, and year by year.

The goal is never to do a lot on earth but always to store up treasures in heaven with the intention of arriving in heaven and being greeted and welcome by my Creator.

To God be all the glory in 2020 and beyond.

“As water reflects the face,
so one’s life reflects the heart.”
— Proverbs 27:19 NIV
