The Starbucks Gift Card on Christmas Eve

‪Christmas Eve 2019.

A simple act of generosity can change someone’s whole perspective, today’s testimony:‬

‪My office had a little gift exchange and I received a $25 Starbucks. I felt the inclination right away to give it away rather than keep it for myself.‬

‪I was like alright, let me remind myself that giving is an action and generosity is a matter of the heart. ‬

‪And I prayed, I’ve been praying, I said, “God, this is from you, may it be used by you to bless another.”‬

‪Leaving church this afternoon there is always this gentleman waving goodbye to cars. As I saw him, I felt the urge to give him something today.‬

‪I always keep some cash in my car now but Allen received the gift card from 2 weeks prior. ‬

‪I could sense his excitement, he was more happy simply that I stopped my car on the side of the parking lot and walked over to him as so many simply drove by him. ‬

‪It was a wonderful gift to him and I’m glad that I could have even a small impression on such a kind-hearted gentleman. ‬

‪God blesses us and we bless others.‬

‪“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” — Luke 6:38‬

This was something that was uncomfortable for me to do at first and a few months ago I wouldn’t have foreseen myself taking time to go out of my way and give this type of gift to someone but now, I’m more than happy and incredibly excited to do this for someone.

Here’s to what God has next. Let’s do it.
