Violent Peace
Making peace is something that many strive to do but not all succeed at.
I’ve found that sometimes making peace is not always possible — we must create it.
“Have courage for the great sorrows of life and patience for the small ones, and when you have laboriously accomplished your daily task, go to sleep in peace. God is awake.” — Victor Hugo
I’ve found that you need to simply be so centered inside that nothing rattles you.
“If someone corrects you and you feel offended, then you have an ego problem.” — Matthew Mcconaughey
“Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.” — Marcus Aurelius
This is what really impacts me when I strive to understand who I am and who God desires for me to be.
I continue to think about where my foundation is — God.
There is the story in Matthew 7 of building a foundation on rock. I strive to do that always with all the things that I do in life. When my peace has the opportunity to be disrupted, I seek to center myself always and do so in the Bible.
“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” — 1 John 4:16 NIV
